Shrimp Boil

a couple of nights ago we went to robert and janelle's for a yummy, fun, family shrimp boil. betsy and leslie and all the kids were there. caitlin and anna had their first picture taken together where they had matching dresses on...too cute:o)

woohoo!!!!!!! this girl definitely knows what she wants. within days she did a 180. after fighting her with nursing i decided to see if there was some small chance she would take a bottle and she not only took it but sucked it down. and brian is really enjoying getting to feed her:o)

Today was Caleb's second soccer game of the season. It is such a hoot watching his soccer games...Leslie put it best when he said that they are like swarms of flies all hovering around a ball.":o) And I'm not sure if I should be allowed to watch his games with how competitive I can get just watching!...and they're only 6years old:o) Caleb is not aware yet that teams win and lose games...last game we got smoked 7-0 and Caleb asked if we scored and I said no and he asked if they other team scored and I said yes....and left it at that:o)

Visit with Grammie and Papa

We are enjoying a visit from Brian's parents who live in Michigan this week. We have already played games, played outside, played the Wii and had soccer practice...whew!

This past weekend we went to Vernon to visit Brian's grandmother. It was her first time to see Caitlin and Caitlin sure did charm her:o) We had fun enjoying walks in the cool weather from Ike, swimming and eating at our favorite chinese restaurant....oh and can't forget our visit to the local wal-mart where grandma got the boys a toy which they were so excited about!

goodness, i can't believe she's already 7 months! The other day Christopher said, "Do you like your baby?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Yeah I think we got the right one." :o)

Unfortunately I have caught Caleb's virus and my mom was kind enough to offer to come up and help. The kids were so excited to see her!

The worst dinner ever

BEWARE! this has puking potential...






This was last night's dinner and I had to take a picture and share so you all can see the depths of our suffering:o)
Why am I blogging on it tonight you ask? Because we had it as leftovers too. Why suffer through this two nights in a row? Well, above my sink I have an index card that reads "Let nothing be wasted." John 6:12. I am pretty bad about wasting food so when I read that a few weeks ago it convicted me and so I have it in my kitchen to remind myself.
So yes, we had this awful concoction of macncheese, hotdogs, tomato soup, celery soup and velveeta cheese 2 nights in a row. I got it from a recipe book, which I have no idea why it sounded good at the time. It is called Hot Dog macaroni bake but I call it 'Crap in a can'.


I knew the boys didn't like it yesterday so I was waiting to see their reaction tonight when they saw me heating it up. Caleb very politely said, "oh i don't like that"..and that was it, i just started busting out laughing. I did promise them that I would never make it again...

Can't wait for fall!

Today has not been so hot as usual and pretty windy which has stirred my anticipation for the fall...my absolute favorite time of year. I love feeling the crisp air, playing with neighborhood kids outside, school parties, dressing up for halloween, pumpkins, mums, and candy apples. So we enjoyed some time in the backyard swinging, playing tag and eating popscicles...

Our Labor Day

Today we went to Robert and Janelle's to swim and celebrate Peter's 6th birthday where...

We finished off our day playing soccer in the backyard. Hope you all had a great labor day like we did!


By the way, Brian did whack Eli upside the head with the wii controller but who's telling??:o)
