Caleb's 7th Pirate Birthday Party!

On Sunday we had Caleb's party at a local park and Caleb said it was the best party ever! The kids had so much fun. Even though it was a little chilly it didn't stop them from having a great time. We first had lunch and the kids played around...

We then had a series of games; the first one being 'The Cannonball game'. They were divided up into 3 teams and raced each other while having to 'walk their plank', grab a cannon(water balloon) and race it back to put it into their artillary box (laundry basket:o)

The second game was a good old fashion water balloon toss but very quickly turned into a water balloon throwing game! (Which I think was started by the adults!:o) Also, earlier that morning while we were getting the balloons ready I got Brian real good but then I have to say he got a real good shot at me so I raced him down and got him again:o)...we ended up wet, dirty and laughing:o)

The last game was a treasure hunt. A few weeks back Caleb had so much fun painting shoe boxes, decorating them to look like a treasure box and filling them all with goodies. Brian was in charge of preparing the maps for the kids and let me say, the 'architect' was coming out in him as he was utilizing all of his site planning skills and downloading an aerial map of the park. I had to finally put an end to that at 10:30pm Saturday night and showed him a paper plate that had a cartoony treasure map on it and told him to make it look like that. He was still struggling.:o)

After the kids raced around the park finding treasure and filling their goody bags we ended the party with cake. I had a lot of fun making it and I love watching my kids get so excited the few days before the party as I prepare and make it. When it's all done they just sit there and stare at it. Too cute.:o)

A HUGE thanks to my mom and sister who came up and helped prepare for the party. We couldn't have done it without you, thank you!
The boys went back home with my mom and Brian and I are enjoying a quiet week with Caitlin...
